Meet Jonathan Carin, DDS

A personal statement from Dr. Jonathan Carin:

I am looking forward to coming home to Northern California and following in the footsteps of my father. It was in his Watsonville office where I was first inspired to become a dentist. I was born and raised in Morgan Hill, CA and spent countless summer days assisting, organizing, cleaning, and learning all about the wonders of the practice of dentistry.

For the past decade, I have lived in Los Angeles. I received my bachelor's degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2014 and then graduated frim the UCLA School of Dentistry four years later. It makes me proud to be a second generation Bruin as my father also graduated from UCLA in 1989.

Following graduation from dental school, I continued my education and training as resident in the Dental Service of the Department of Veteran Affairs in Los Angeles, which included elevation to Chief Resident in 2019. During this time, I student and increased my skillset in many advanced techniques and gravitated towards mastering the surgical and restorative priciples of Impant Dentistry. I am looking forward to introducing this exciting aspect of dentistry into our practice. I was also able to collaborate with my peers to understand and formulate comprehensive treatment plans which is something I'm eager to continue here in Watsonville.

I am very fortunate to have been mentored by many wonderful role models along the way and I look forward to bringing all of those techniques into my practice. As the son of a dentist who has served his community for over 30 years, the concept of respect for patients has been ingrained into me from an early age and is the key factor in any successful dental practice.

I therefore vow: to have a gentle touch, to communicate with my patients so that they can be active participants in their healthcare, to treat every patient with humanity and respect, to care for each patient as I would family, and to try to be and do better everyday.
